Kalbi Beef, or sometimes referred to as Galbi, is another Korean dish that is similar to Bulgogi. The benefits of this marinade is that it uses common pantry items. I have used this recipe and some of my own variations for a long time. It is really tasty and quick and it has a different taste than most marinated beef that you’ll find at your summer barbecues so if you make this you are sure to please your crowd with something tasty and new!
Kalbi Beef

- 1 lb short ribs or flank steak
- 1/2 medium onion, finely chopped
- 3 large green onions
- 1/2 cup reduced sodium soy sauce

Made this the other night (had beef out and didn’t know what to make). I made it and didn’t notice the “24 hour” marinate time. It marinated for 1 hour and it was still delicious! LOVE this recipe!!!!

I’m glad you liked it, I tend to let it marinate during the day and call it good as well!

This was soooooo good! My Husband and my 3 boys loved it too! I obviously didn’t make enough cause they kept asking for more and it was already gone. I used Tamari instead of soy sauce since I am Paleo right now. Thank you so much for this recipe!!!

Is this like thai beef jerky? I had some at a few different restaurants, but they called it “heavenly beef”. It was so delicious, but I can’t find a recipe that is similar to it. What’s the texture of this recipe? A little easier to chew than beef jerky but still a little sticky? Or does it taste like bbq steak?

No, this is a grilled meat, not a jerky
