Made a batch this past weekend. My husband loved it so much that he told me I was never allowed to make it again…he wanted to consume the entire bowl. We took your recommendation and let it chill before serving. Seriously good stuff.

I made this last night for a trivia night and the table went nuts! My husband thought the dip would make a good filling for cannoli as well, so will be trying that if I ever have leftovers :-).

This tastes like cookie dough, it isn’t actually cookie dough. There is no egg in this recipe.

…Crystal, have you even read the ingredient list? o_o
If this looks tremendously good as a dip, imagine this in a crepe… OMG, I need to try this now!

That sounds like a great idea! Someone above also mentioned a cannoli filling which would be nice!

well it’s not ACTUALLY cookie dough. If you look at the ingredients there are no eggs, which is what could potentially give you the salmonella.

I wonder if this can be modified into a pie filling, with a cookie for a pie crust

I made this for a family get together. It was okay. I wouldn’t make it again. It was way too cheesy tasting for a desert. Even my husband who is a cheesecake fan thought this tasted way too much like cream cheese.

If you add more vanilla or powdered sugar it will taste sweeter, to your taste. I also found that letting it sit overnight in the fridge gives it time to absorb the flavors.

I am making this for a Baby Shower this weekend for My Daughter. She LOVES cookie dough ice cream. We made some up last weekend to “test drive”, lol. We added a little more vanilla & put in fridge over night, it was awesome! Can’t wait for My Daughter & all the Ladies to taste it on Saturday……

I’m so glad you liked it! This is great when you’re pregnant because you don’t have to worry about raw dough etc., but you can still enjoy!

For those of you who have made it, how many people woud it serve. I am going to make it for my daughters bridal shower and was wondering if I should double the recipe?

It really depends on what else you are serving. It’s a standard amount for a typical “dip” serving. It’s difficult to guess how may people it would serve, since some will gobble up more than others 🙂 I’d say this size is about the same as making an 8 oz of sour cream and onion dip or what not. If you are expecting it to go a long ways, I’d make double. It is a very popular dip that not many people may have had so people may linger.

Found this on Pinterest a while ago and finally got around to making this today with my teenage daughter! I do think next time I’ll try the 1.5 tsp of vanilla and a bit of cinnamon. All in all it was a great way to spend a rainy afternoon and now we have a sweet treat for after dinner 🙂

i just made this and my dip is runny, any suggestions?
maeghan said:

I have never had it runny, but I would refrigerate it and that should stiffen it up a bit.

Mine is runny too…I looked on pinterest and most versions of this recipe do not have you melt the butter. I will try that next time.

Ive made this before and i love it so i thought i would make it again today since i had the stuff on hand and im obsessed with sweets. I tried melting some sweet cream butter and mixing the brown sugar and it just didnt melt together. it was like i added water. so i tried it with margarine and it worked like a charm. Would you have any idea why this happened? Im just curious.

I’m not sure. There could be a few variables at play.
